We Dropped Anchor Four Times in Anse Mitan
Anse Mitan is a large, lovely anchorage, with room for hundreds of boats. We motored over from Anse Dufour to the the smaller section of Anse Mitan and tried to drop anchor three times, but it wouldn't grab. After moving to the front of the larger section, we grabbed on the first try. We tidied up quickly and dinghyed into town. The dinghy dock was broken but we were able to use it anyway. We walked around town and found a place for lunch. The next day we searched for a groc

Martinique: France in the Caribbean
St. Pierre is one of my favorite cities in the Caribbean. It boasts restaurants, patisseries, shops, vegetable markets, a zoo, snorkeling, diving, museums, underwater wrecks/statues, ruins and seaglass. Maggie Arrives in Portsmouth - the Friendliest Little Port in the Caribbean
Maggie was due to arrive on Thursday, but came three days early. She had intended to visit the northern area of Dominica before she boarded Liahona. Unfortunately, the B&B was non-existent, so she came right out to the boat. The next day, Maggie was out exploring the Indian River. That night we all went to another PAYS barbecue. Maggie was also able to see the natural Chaudier Pools on northern Dominica, before we left. Later, a weather window appeared, so it was time to move

On to Portsmouth, Dominica - the friendliest port in the Caribbean
We signed up for the PAYS Yachting Festival. P.A.Y.S. - Portsmouth Association of Yacht Security is a group of small boaters who provide assistance with moorings, customs/immigration, taxis and tours. They offer two bar-b-ques each week, for cruisers, locals and other visitors. We found this stop last year and were very impressed with their hospitality and services. Tim received an invitation for this yearly celebration, so we signed up. We arrived several days early, as ou

Moving to ile des Saintes, Guadeloupe
After a lovely evening visiting friends on their Super Maramu 2000 (just like ours), we finally got a weather window to move to a new place. We sailed south to Riviera Sans, where we bought fuel and I found seaglass ate the beach there. We had planned to stop at this location for the night. Instead, we decided to continue on to ile des Saintes, a group of islands owned by Guadeloupe. We spent the night at a small anchorage near the main harbour. Early the next morning we too
