On to Yorktown

Our Calm and Secluded Spot Across the York River from Yorktown
Our Calm and Secluded Spot Across the York River from Yorktown

We dinghied across the calm York River to Yorktown and boarded the free shuttle to the Yorktown Battlefield Museum. We spent most of the day there, until we needed refueling at a local restaurant. Water Street Grill had just what we needed: Air conditioning, water, fresh tuna sandwiches and tacos. Yummy! After lunch, we noticed the wind had picked up and the water was a lot choppier than when we had crossed earlier. We decided to leave immediately, before it got choppier. It was quite a ride back. I felt like the small boat would tip every time we hit a larger wave. I was so happy to see the calm anchorage and Liahona waiting for us.

Two days later, we took a short Uber ride into town to visit the American Revolutionary Museum. We spent hours there. Then, we walked down the hill to the town center to explore. We visited a few shops, then called it a day. We Ubered back to our dinghy and joined some friends from Grenada for dinner on their catamaran. It would be the last time we would see them for a while.

After dinner, we lifted our dinghy and got ready for our 6-hour sail to Deltaville in the morning.

Time to move on.
