Back to The U. S. of A.

I arrived at Savannah, Georgia on May 8th, leaving Tim and 2 crew members to cross the Gulfstream to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Other family members began arriving In Hilton Head shortly after to spend a week at Aunt Maxine's home and rented beach house. Tim and crew arrived in the wee hours of May 13th. We spent the week eating, talking, beach combing, touring, shopping and resting.

The following week I flew to New York for three days for a funeral. I left Tim and my sister to work on Liahona and her house.

During our time on Hilton Head Island Tim (and sometimes, I) completed many boat projects such as: Fixed water maker, cleaned bilge, replaced raw water manifold, replaced seals on freezers, cleaned water tanks, repaired AIS, and replaced many lines. We also bought and replaced many household items and parts. We should be just about ready for summer.

We will likely be here for another week or 2, as we look for crew and get ready to make passage to the Norfolk, Virginia area. Again, Tim and crew will make the passage, while I drive to Virginia with my sister. I am still not ready for multiple day sails. After that, we plan to continue sailing north, through the Chesapeake and the C and D Canal, down past Cape May, New Jersey, and back to the Atlantic. Then, we plan to head northward, stopping in NJ and NY for more family time. Perhaps we'll visit Boston or even Maine before we have to turn around and sail back to the Caribbean for next season. But, as Tim always says, "Sailing plans are written in the sand at low tide." So, we shall see where the winds take us.
