A Short and Wonderful Labor Day Weekend in St. Michaels

ree

We made plans to meet up with our friends, Norman and Anne, as well as her sister, Mandy, in St. Michaels, Maryland. Tim and I arrived early, found an anchor spot, lowered the dinghy, and went into town. We visited a bunch of cute shops and had ice cream, then went back to Liahona to wait on our friends. Elysium arrived at about 4:00, carrying three very special people. They tried to anchor near us, but it was much too crowded, so they had to turn around and park further out. Wouldn't you know it - just as they were about to drop anchor, our area started clearing out. By the time they got back to the harbor there was plenty of room! Liahona and Elysium together again!! That evening we brought over our pre-made pasta with sausage and New York bread; they made Shrimp Scampi. We stayed there until 10:30, late for sailors - as we usually sleep and wake with the sun. We spent our evening laughing, telling stories, hooting and hollering. If we had recorded it, we could have written an entire book. So. Much. Fun.!!!

The next morning Anne, Norman and Mandy came over to Liahona for breakfast. "Brunch and Beads" Mandy named it, although we didn't get to make bracelets yet. It was time to go into town. Anne came into town with us, Mandy and Norman went back to Elysium to catch up on some rest. Later, Anne made a wonderful pork loin with yummy sauce and green beans for dinner. More laughing and story-telling later into the late-night. And, we made bracelets.

The next morning Tim and I went over to say good-bye and stayed for three hours. It was really hard to separate from them. It was such a wonderful weekend! Fair winds and following seas, until next time. We miss you Mandy, Norman and Anne already!
